DEED BOOK Q pg 262-263 16 April 1791 John and Elizabeth Thomas of the County of Culpeper have bargained sold and delivered unto William Powell of Fairfax County one negro girl by name of Jamima for 25 pounds 10 shillings current money of Virginia. Witness: ? Boon?(unclear), William Thomas, Benjamin Bingham, Bailey or Billy Powell DEED BOOK C pg 6-10 17 November 1757 There is an Ambrose Powell mentioned as a commissioner. No other info on him. WILL BOOK C, pg 100 April 29, 1782 Item I give and bequeath to my son in law William Powell and his heirs forever one negro man Aaron and a Negro girl Lucy- Towards the end it says: It is my will and desire that the residue of my Estate not already given away or heretofore mentioned may be disposed of at the Highest bidder and the Cash arising therefrom after the payment of my just debts be divided among my following children, Viz, Benjamin, John, and the representatives of Massey, William Robert McKey, who married my daughter Margaret, William Powell who married my daughter Sarah, Jeremiah Kirk who married my daughter Ann or their Heirs or assigns by equal distribution.
