Joseph and William Murphy were Baptist ministers born in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, however. I show that their parents were William Murphy and Eleanor Echols. The various homes of the family are uncertain. The Murphys might have moved to Halifax County, VA, about 1735, but there seems to be little documentation on the subject. Sincerely, Bill
