Richards' Ferry was one of the few ways to get from Stafford to Fauquier County. The road on the Stafford side was (and still is) called Richards' Ferry Road. I've long wondered which Richards owned the ferry. Since there were William Richardses on both sides of Deep Run, both of whom owned land in the general vicinity of the ferry, I have been unsure of who kept the ferry. Any ideas?
