Abel STOUT was born in Amwell, Hunterdon County, N.J. and moved to Augusta County, VA; his son, Jacob STOUT, married Mildred BALLENGER in Stevensburg, Culpeper County, VA, in 1796, and there raised his family and founded the Stevensburg Baptist Church.
