They tested the Y-DNA which passes from father to son. Gary, who suggested I take it was searching for descendants of Fleet Cooper. I did not match up with his but did match all 12 Y-DNAs of Mark Cooper, a descendant of Joseph Cooper, born late 1790s in Greenbrier Co. There is a 99.9% certainty that Mark & I share common ancestry. Would like to see a Cooper from the Leonard Cooper family and one from John Cooper, who married the Meador, each take this test. Would settle some questions.
