Donna- Your mention of my ancestor Robert Garnett caught my eye. He had taken control of the "Horseshoe farm" in 1794, deeded to him by his father Anthony Garnett. This is at the horseshoe shaped confluence of the Robinson and Rapidan Rivers. He seems to have purchased other tracts of property before this, which I believe were probably north of this. Perhaps this Huffman house was one of those tracts he obtained earlier. Robert, known as "Robin," seems to have gradually sold off some of the property after 1808. He apparently sold or dispersed everything in 1824, when he is reported to rode on horseback to Kentucky, at the age of 88. I was wondering if there is mention of Robert and any other Garnetts in that Culpeper History Book. Rick Waggener Walnut Creek, California
