In re-reading this part of the settlement very closely, I do now believe that Matilda is Matilda Hume, wife of Albert Kennedy. They seem to be listed with other Hume descendants, including Granville Kennedy and wife Mildred, who I believe to be a sister to Matilda Hume. Albert Kennedy and wife Matilda Hume are buried at Elmwood in Orange CO and are cited frequently in a book called THE FANNY HUME DIARY OF 1862 and published by the Orange County Historical Society. I am still very interested in hearing from anyone who is researching this family. Thank you.
