Hi, Well, I was panning to be in the Culpeper/Fauquier/Madison counties area May 28-31; however, it was a sidetrip to a visit to my sister, Marlene, in Maryland. Sadly, her mother-in-law recently suffered a stroke and needs round-the-clock care for awhile longer. My visit would have just have been an imposition at this time, so I am postponing it until Fall. I am still taking the time off from work, so I get some time too catch up on gen research, correspondence, etc. to the extent that I can do it from home. Traci Wilson-Kleecamp kindly posted a link to the Orange Co., VA mail list last week for historical record data located in Fredericksburg. I have just found an assortment of BOWEN citations. One has some interesting data, so I am going to order the full record. The record title is COLVIN vs. TUTT &c" and the year recorded is shown as "1828?" with a record ID of 52-2. It has several "Family" references, among them (my caps), "James BOWEN, brother of Robert BOWERS by their mother." Other Family references include: "James TUTT, son in law of Benjamin COLVIN," "Benjamin TUTT, brother of James TUTT, "Ann BOWEN, wife of James BOWEN - 1827" (probably Ann T. FOUSHEE). Of course, I am now very interested in the lineage of the referenced Robert BOWERS...his mother and her husbands. If anyone can assist, please let me know. I am preparing a letter to request this full record and will transcribe it upon receipt. I will probably post it to the message board, which is gatewayed to this list.
