Hello I am looking for examples of architecture from the early to mid 1700's in the Orange County/Culpepper County (Old Rag Mtn area). I am researching what life was like for the bradley and Lillard families growing up. The two children John Bradley and Sarah Lillard married quite young. Sarah was only around 13/14 yo. Was this typical? Lawrence Bradley is my supposed gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-gr grandfather. I am interested in what type of housing exiasted there? Were the farms log cabins, or frame houses? How big were the average homes on Old Rag Mountain? Were the Bradley's and Lillard's pretty well off? I believe that Lawrence may have also owned a Mill of some sort. I believe his wife's name ws Elizabeth..... Any info from the area would be appreciated...I am trying to piece to gether what the area was like. Rebecca Snyder
