William Cardwell, soldier in the Rev. War - Pension #W.8590, stated that after the Rev.War that he returned to Culpeper Co.Va to the house of his brother. (Name not stated) William Cardwell married Famariah Field soon afterwards and they move to the Franklin/Mercer/Bullitt County area of Kentucky by 1796. Henry Field and Abraham Field also moved to this section of Kentucky. William Cardwell stated in depostion that he married the sister of Abraham Field. Henry and Abraham Field are both from Culpeper. Henry Field is reported to have married an unknown Cardwell for his first wife. There is an obvious connection to the Field family and Culpeper County, Va. I am looking for ANY info on the Culpeper Cardwell families pre-1820. Thanks, Rand
