    1. [VACULPEP] Piner/Swindle marriage

    3. Hello all... I'm trying to locate anyone with a copy of the marriage record of Thomas Piner and Elizabeth Swindle, married 22 Dec 1791 in Culpeper. I've seen numerous citations of the marriage record but would like to find a copy of the actual record or at least get a more exact wording of the record. Elizabeth was daughter of John Swindle and Hannah Weaver (of Germanna descent). Thomas Piner was son of Thomas Sr. and Margaret Walker. I'd also be curious if anyone knows anything about either Thomas Sr. or Margaret Walker. All I really know is that they existed, were Thomas Jr's parents, and that Thomas Sr. died in 1777. I don't know if the Piners were of Germanna descent or were English, and I know nothing at all of the Walkers. Also curious if anyone knows how Daniel Boone may have been connected to this area. My ancestry goes through Columbus Piner, son of Presley Piner, son of Thomas Piner and Elizabeth Swindle. Old family tradition claims that Columbus head west to Missouri by way of Kentucky with Daniel Boone. It seems many Culpeper folks (especially of Germanna descent) ended up going the same route. It would be an interesting connection to history if true, but unfortunately I don't know all that much about Boone (yet).
