Dear Joyce, I haven't been there for five years. It is a long drive from CA. There may have been records of your Browns in the annals of the Great Crossings church in the Scott Co. Hist. Society. I have run across several Browns but they were in nearby Owen Co. I think there were two separate Brown clans. My cousin's farm is on the North Fork of the Elkhorn. You were probably on that land when you saw the school. It was a farm begun in the 1770's.
