    3. And by the way -- I'm' interested in Richard Mentor JOhnston... he's kin to the JOHNSTONS of Caroline and Orange Co., VA -- William Johnston and Ann Marie Chew Johnston. Richard Johnston had children with a slave named Julia Chinn and I'm interested in what happened to those children and the other slaves he owned. traci wilson-kleekamp -----Original Message----- From: Thomas S. 3. Dear Traci and interested listers, Richard is buried at the old Great Crossings church. I have been to his grave and have pix somewhere. Great Crossings is close to Georgetown. My ancestor built a farm in the area after serving under Daniel Boone. His wife was born in Culpeper. My cousin still owns the farm (I believe) and next to it is a building (at Blue Springs) where the Johnson home stands. There is a house next door which my cousin said was "for Johnson's concubines." So what you say is probably true. The water in Blue Springs is really, honestly blue. Also nearby are two more sites of interest: one is a stone building that was used as a Choctaw Indian school, to teach the Indian kids to read and write English. The other is a pasture where Gen'l Lafayette spoke to citizens to get them involved in the War of 1812. He was very successful. I was born in Louisville, KY, but live in southern CA. Luckily, I was able to revisit these places maybe five years ago. If you want to know where they are, please email me privately. My cousin is ill and can't stand a lot of visitors. 1. RE: [Re: [VACULPEP] Re: Daniel Boone Questions]/Johnson family

    3. One of my ancestors, Moses Sweeney, married Elizabeth Johnson. Her family was said to be cousins of some sort to Richard M Johnson, V. P. of the United States but I've seen no evidence of this. This couple settled in Virginia, and created a mill along the Slate River, in Buckinghamshire, VA. They had several children there, and then relocated to what is now Lincoln County, KY. In 1787 Moses built a log home, which was what his family lived in until his death. I have seen records linking Moses with Boonesboro/D. Boone. Does anyone have further information on Elizabeth, her family, and whether there really was a connection to VP Johnson? Thanks Jan Daniel -----Original Message----- From: Thomas S.
