Then around 1823, they moved to Logan County, Va. All of these counties are in the present day West Virginia. West Virginia did not become a state until 1863. In the 1830 Mark Duncan is documented. Then in the 1850 census, Mark P. Duncan has a wife Anna Canady. So, this means there was a Mark Sr. and Mark Jr. Go to www.google.com and type in Mark Duncan Logan County and you will get alot of stuff Where did Mark Sr. originate from? Monroe County and Greenbrier County were once one county. There was one family of Duncans named John Duncan and Elizabeth Patterson. We are trying to determine if these are Mark's Sr. parents. See what you can dig up from the 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 and 1900 census. Our family was Mark Jr., Henderson, John, Evert, Vernon Good Luck
