I am trying to find info on the Freeman's that lived in Culpepper Va. It appears from census, that a Robert and James were early settlers there. There was a John Freeman, son of Robert and Elizabeth Freeman that married an Elizabeth Isabell in Surry Co. NC in July, l797. I am trying to find if any of the Culpepper Va. Freeman's might have relocated to Surry - Wilkes - Montgomey Counties early in the l800's or late l700's. My brick wall is finding the parents of my gg grandfather William H (R?) Freeman b. about l8l8 married to Hannah (Mary) Dunn b. l8l9. In l860 they settled in Yadkin Co.(Surry Co, until l850) and he enlisted in the Civil War in Iredell Co. and was killed at Spotsylvania Courthouse on May l3, l864..
