John Shirley was born in "Calf Pasture" Culpeper County, Va. Aug 27,1738. wife was Rebecca? b.abt 1739. married about 1756 in Culpeper? John Shirley who was the son of Richard who came to Craven & Berkeley Co. now, Laurens Co. South Carolina area about 1768 after recieving a land grant in that area. They were listed in first census 1790 in Laurens Co. S.C. Possible family names that have been passed down to sons are Berryman and Beverley. Any information would be appreciated.
