Thomas families pre-1790, specifically pedigree of Captain Mark Thomas who fought in the Rev. War serving with Col.(later Gen.) George Rodgers Clark (Brother of Meriwether Clark - Lewis and Clark fame)in the campaigns in IL. He was born in VA, probably Culpeper Co., migrating to the Falls of the Ohio (Louisville, KY) and staying there at least until 1790, moving to the American Bottom, IL and dying in St. Louis in 1813. Mark Thomas' first wife was Ann? possibly Patton; they had four children: Elizabeth Thomas married first Lawrence Must in 1787 in Nelson Co., KY and 2nd Benjamin Johnston ca 1789/90; Claiborne (dob est. 1770-80 dod est 1856); James; and Judith who married "Capt."
