Records indicate that there were three adult Benjamin HUFFMANs residing in Culpeper County during the American Revolutionary War (ARW) according to VA Census/tax rolls and Dr. Holtzclaw (Germanna Record #5). A fourth Benjamin whose identity is not evident in other records made a statement in the 1846 pension application of Martin DEER. A Benjamin HUFMAN is listed in class #98 of 106 classes (12 to 13 men per class) of militiamen from Culpeper Co., VA who were draftable (1 man per class was selected) in Jan. 1781 to serve with the Continental Army).
