Records indicate that there were three adult Benjamin HUFFMANs residing in Culpeper County during the American Revolutionary War (ARW) according to VA Census/tax rolls and Dr. Holtzclaw (Germanna Record #5). A fourth Benjamin whose identity is not evident in other records made a statement in the 1846 pension application of Martin DEER. The four are-- HUFFMAN BORN DIED Benjamin1, s/o Henry () 1812 VA Benjamin2, s/o Jacob (John 1714) 1760 c1826 VA Benjamin3, s/o Tillman (Henry 1734) c1763 living1830 IL(Census) Benjamin4, 1757 living 1846 VA No Benjamin Huffman is currently carried as a pension veteran of the ARW in the National Archives files nor in the NSDAR Patriot Index and its annexes. A Benjamin HUFMAN is listed in class #98 of 106 classes (12 to 13 men per class) of militiamen from Culpeper Co., VA who were draftable (1 man per class was selected) in Jan. 1781 to serve with the Continental Army).
