Thomas Spencer CARTER had 9 siblings. I have a Francis GAINES 1708-1775 m Dorothy BOSWELL 1732-1786, but do not know if this is the same Francis and Dorothy GAINES. Francis 1708-1775 was the son of Richard GAINES(James) 1670-1756 d. Culpeper and Catherine RAWLINGS-MADISON. A couple of Francis' siblings m into PENDLETON My connection to this line is BALL of Culpeper--John CARTER b. 1674 m Frances BALL, do Col. Joseph BALL 1649-1711 (father of Mary Ball-Washington) and Elizabeth Julia ROMNEY(his 1st wife). I am a desc of Joseph's brother William BALL, II through William's son Capt. Samuel BALL.
