    2. I'm not an attorney or a judge but do remember that as early as this land was deeded minor children and women could not hold land in their own names alone. Perhaps Jeremiah was to be the legal guardian until his son's were of age. Abraham and Issac both served in the Revolutionary War and both were granted bounty land. According to the bounty land certificates I have, Issac was deceased when the certificate was issued (1789). Jeremiah Jenkins was named "heir-at-law" for both Abraham and Issac. To be named "heir-at-law" would not Jeremiah have had a familial connection to both Abraham and Issac? I find it odd that Abraham assigned his land (and was allowed to do so ) to Jeremiah as he (Abraham) had a wife and children at the time.
