The only evidence we've seen, to even verify his existence, is his name on a list of Virginia taxpayers from 1782-87. Oakleys seem to have lived in Virginia since very early days; we have seen records from the mid-1600s which list Oakleys, but this Henry has been one of the most elusive. A man whom we believe to be his son, Henry Jr. (though he never used the "Jr."), was born about 1790 in VA, and later moved to central TN. Thanks.
