    2. Yes, look on the 1880 census for his parents or their respective parents/possibilities. --I know several years early but he may have had siblings or parents may have been with parents/family. The best census is to look on the 1900 census which will tell when he was born: month & year; where born; where parents were born. I hope this helps.
