I am looking for a marriage date of Frances Sophia Hord, d of James Hord and Mary Susan (Mollie) Miller, to Gabriel Slaughter. It could be c 1797. Their child ,Frances Ellen Slaughter, was born 10 March 1810 in Culpeper, VA. This would have been James's second marriage as later there were lawsuits filed against Simon Miller. Have ordered two Court Records from Fredericksburg . James Hord Sen. died 1823. Children of James Hord Sen. in Plaintiff: James Jr. Elizabeth, Lucy, Walker. Jane and Frances Sophia Hord. All but James Jr. listed as infants. Walker I have never seen before so he may have died after the record was filed. Know the other two girls married Withers and Brookes. In James Hord's will he lists Frances as being married to ..................Slaughter, with a William Slaughter signing the will.

I have them married 9 March 1797 in Caroline County, VA. The information came from: Information from Shirly Roe 427 Franklin Ave Moberly, MO. 65270-2662; Shirly funished all inf ormation on this family. I might have more information IF I ever get into all the paperwork. This may or may not be correct this is the Gabriel Slaughter that was Gov. of Kentucky. I have him married to a cousin also Sarah Slaughter that I know is wrong or the dates are. The date of the marriage is before his birth. :) Vickye White
