    3. I have also seen this name spelled more frequently as *Eleazor* or *Eleazar*. It is rather unusual and I would think it would be a good research clue. Triplett (Hand) > > Mitzie, Sounds like Chester's Gap area to me. I have no knowledge of Elzear (Elzey-Ellzey-Elsea?)-Triplett land sale you mention, but I did notice this later 1838 deed sale suggests a possible string of title going back to Hand. I am not sure this is the parcel of land you mentioned in your note, but I will offer this up for your consideration. William Hand had a 400 acre parcel of land granted to him circa 1750 just south of the head springs of the Hedgeman or Rappahannock River. In 1750 this four hundred acre parcel was located just south of Chester's Gap and would have been located where three county borders meet, or the southern boundary of Frederick, the north western boundary of Fauquier and the north eastern boundary of Culpeper. Today this same 400 acre parcel would be located within the present day boundaries of Warren, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties. The Triplett's and Jennings families I believe then had leases in Lord Fairfax's Manor of Leeds starting circa 1780's. I have drawn some of these old grants in Deed Mapper software for this Chester's Gap area and I am happy to export jpeg images to you should you have an interest. Does anyone have knowledge of either Elzear (sp?) or Triplett that would give me a clue as to where this land could be? Thanks for any help.
