His son, James, died in 1806 in Nelson Co, KY. Among James' children was an Armistead Brown (who might have been named after an uncle or cousin--although Amistead was a very popular name in VA at that time). Nelson Co. Deed Book 6 has plenty of info on the guardianship of James Brown's orphans. I do not know if there is a direct link between this child and the Armistead born in 1760, but hope that the names and locations are more than coincidence. Good Luck.
