My great grandfather was Dabney Gaines who married Ann Eliza Yates. I have searched the Gaines family back to Brecon, Wales. The family has been searched back to before the 1300ies. The only "weak" link is the immigrant to the USA. That immigrant is thought to be Thomas son of Thomas brother of Sir John Games(Gaines) of Newton House, Brecon, Wales. Thomas was from Aberbran near Brecon, Wales. I have been to Brecon three times and visited two churches where family is buried and also visited three family homes from the 1500ies. I can provide information re the Gaines(Games) family. I am trying to find out the death date and location of John Wallis Gaines' death.
