I've found a lot of secondary associations between John and Frances Ham. I'll e-mail you separately so we can talk about them. But the primary information comes from John's own testimony in his pension application showing that he never lived in Amherst County but went directly from Culpeper Co VA to Elbert Co GA in 1791. I'd contact your local DAR chapter to find out the process for applying. There's a DAR-related message board and you can ask them where your nearest chapter is.
