Anne, I agree with you that it is not a very common name. However I have found one Mary Tye and I just received an email from a lady in California who had a Job Tye, Samuel tye and Thomas Tye brothers who were in Virginia but by 1820 had moved to Oglethorpe Co., GA. I even thought that maybe my Sarah was a Tye by a first marriage as she was about 28 years old when she married my Peter Hansbrough. I just have ran into a brick wall with Sarah Tye Hansbrough.
