According to my records my Stapp's were English not German. I am rereading a copy of the book The Vawter Family in America (Discarded from the Los Angeles Public Library) by Grace Vawter Bicknell). Some of the Vawter and Wilhite moved to Indiana from Kentucky. A picture on the front of the book is of Aquillies Vawter. >From other notes: Joshua Stapp and Martha Patsy Coffey had John married to Ann Salmon, Joseph ???, Anester married to Wm Sims, my Joshua Stapp Jr. married to Hannah Durham, Eve Stapp married to Anthred Salmon, Elizabeth married to Wm Morris, James ?, Thomas married to Ann Lucas. One note said John Stapp's oldest son married Lucy Gholson, daughter of Anthony Gholson. We are talking notes from the early 1980's by Mary Ellen Stapp Gifford and with the age of the computer I am sure more information is available. Didn't get any Stapp money however thankful for Lucy having the good sense to marry John Wilhite!
