    1. [VACULPEP] D. LATHAM & Elizabeth CLAYTON
    2. Cynthia Claytonroberts
    3. from an old book of DAR records online at Google Booksearch, Vol IV DAR ID's from #3001 thru 4000 published in 1893: D. LATHAM m. Elizabeth CLAYTON, dau of one of the Philip Clayton(s) who served in the Revolution. dau Frances (LATHAM) m. Francis Ransdall SLAUGHTER son Cadwallader SLAUGHTER m. Frances Ann (VANCE) dau Elizabeth Frances SLAUGHTER m. Squire BASSETT The BASSETT's had at least 4 daughters born Lexington, Fayette Co., Kentucky: Frances b. 1856 m. William L. Threlkeld Elizabeth b. 1858 m. Dr. Matthew Scott Emma b. 1868 & Anna b. 1870 I found the BASSETTs on the 1880 Lexington Ky Census. And apparently the mom, Mrs. Elizabeth Frances (SLAUGHTER) Bassett died that same year at Christmastime. Of course all the Culpeper folk have passed on by that time and my only wild guess as to whom the SLAUGHTER line runs way back to would be the Cadwalader Slaughter b. abt 1735 in Essex Co. d. aft 1798 in Fauquier Co., Va m. Mary Elizabeth RANSDELL (RAMSDELL?) of the Col Francis SLAUGHTER 1701-1765 & Anne LIGHTFOOT (1708-1748) line. Does any of this ring bells to anyone researching any of these families connected to Culpeper? Is there a generation missing? While this isn't one of my Philip Claytons, well I don't think so anyway :) ; a Robert LATHAM, jr. cosigned the security bond for my Sam Clayton in 1790 when he was sheriff of Culpeper county so I've always been interested in the LATHAM family too. Anybody know what the "D." stands for in D. Latham? Cynthia, befuddled in Wisconsin as usual
