Dear Winnie: You are getting a little greedy on this one. The only to find an exact birthday for his woman is from a church parish record, a family bible, or her tombstone, and in that order of reliability. Parish records for Essex County for this period are not extant. So eliminate that one. UNLESS she was born in England and them came to Virginia later. Then you might have some luck. Family bibles from this period would be scarce, but who knows, may exist. Tombstones for this period are rare, and even if there was one, it may long ago have worn away or been trampled by cows, pigs or sheep. As such, finding an exact birthdate is truly Quixotic. However, if there are any records of her being an orphan and she happened to exercise her right at age 14 to choose her own guardian, you MIGHT be in luck. In rare instances, birthday might be given in these older records as to when their apprenticeships expired. Hardly ever found in the case of females. But you never know.
