 To the List :   I only posted this because there were 5 Eltonhead sisters that came to Va and because of their marriages they have descendants all over Va and MD. Their parents Richard Eltonhead and Ann Sutton  are from England and descend from Henry II of England. I descend from them plus ..... I have other lines of my Mother's of ....Graves, Parks, Pulliam in Culpeper.... and also in Orange and Spotsylvania of .....Holladay and Boswell.... to name just a few, I usually don't post on them because my lines are proven. My Mother's family are all over Spotsylvania, Orange and Culpeper plus many others.    I  was posting on genealogy only, not politics, but in saying that politicians are human beings too and they have genealogical lines also. There are approximately  20 Presidents who have descendants in Virginia including George Washington to name just one and most of then desecend from the Plantagenets in England.   I have received good and not so good emails on this and some were glad for the information. As far as sources it is Gary Boyd Roberts who is well known to do research on "all" Presidents and Vice-Presidents and has written several books on the English coming to America and how the colonies  were formed and the families who were immigrants which settled them  included Virginia and all of the counties involved that Culpeper  was formed from such as Spotstylvania County.  Of course this takes in history as well as genealogy but the two go together.   Many of us want to see if we can prove our lines across the pond just because we want to know who our grandparents are.
