I know that I am descended from a Hume in Culpeper (now Madison County?) named George Hume, but while I see three Humes here, none of them are George, whose wife was Elizabeth PROCTOR. My Humes migrated to what is now Greenbrier County, WV. Can anyone help me with this family? Did George have to go on a later ship that the Elizabeth and Ann? I had heard he was on Captain Doddridge's ship. The line I have documented goes back to George Hume(s), married to Clarissa HINKLE. I believe his father is James HUME (born Fauquier County, 1768, which I think had just been created from Prince William County)and his wife is Jane MC MILLION. Then I believe James's father is William HUME and his wife was Ann___no surname found yet. I know that William and Ann married in Fauquier County, VA. If anyone else is working on these family lines, please let's get together and compare notes. I know there is a great deal of difficulty when I am tracing pioneers to the western part of Virginia and now WV.
