    3. There was a Manakintown in Powhatan County, just outside Richmond. It was originally a village site of the Monacan Indians, later a Huguenot settlement. Right on the James River, with a ferry across it, it grew to be a prosperous, small town. The name still exists in the area, Manakintown Ferry Road, etc. Nancy ------- I was never lost, but I was bewildered once for three days. --Daniel Boone On Nov 16, 2008, at 4:11 PM, Eliz Hanebury wrote: > I have no idea, I just keep seeing them listed in the Colony.
