were the German emigrants Christopher & Elizabeth (unknown*) Zimmermann who arrived 1717 in Virginia with their sons, John and Andrew. They lived in Spottsylvania, then moved to Orange. Christopher's Will was proved 23 Mar 1748/9 in "St. Mark's Parish, Orange". Whatever that 1748/49 means on the ground in real time (like when you're asked how many candles to have put on your cake), but I do know my old mjr Philip Clayton's NN Grant dated 25 June 1748 is Orange County & the property itself is off Mountain Run, a hop skip from the Culpeper Courthouse. I don't know what day he woke up in "1749" and found himself in Culpeper County *one guess is an Anna Elizabeth Albrecht, but I personally haven't seen any record
