    3. >>were the German emigrants Christopher & Elizabeth (unknown*) Zimmermann who arrived 1717 in Virginia with their sons, John and Andrew. They lived in Spottsylvania, then moved to Orange. Christopher's Will was proved 23 Mar 1748/9 in "St. Mark's Parish, Orange". *one guess is an Anna Elizabeth Albrecht, but I personally haven't seen any record <<< The Zimmermans didn't plan to be plunked down on the Rappahannock in Virginia ~ Pennsylvania was their intended destination. There may be some church papers (or something similar to the Quaker letters) that got there ahead of time although the ship didn't, that could possibly identify the Mrs. I don't know for sure (and it's not a project I want to take on), but a likely place to begin could very well be: https://secureapps.libraries.psu.edu/digitalbookshelf/index.cfm .

    3. Those interested in the Germanna families (two colonies and later comers) will find this web site of tremendous help. http://germanna.org/ The Germanna Foundation and many, many others have been researching these families for decades and even over 100 years ago. There is a wealth of information to be had at the Germanna Foundation. There is also a rootsweb mailing list like this one for the Germanna Colonies that is very active. The mailing list is not sponsored by the Foundation, though the two work very closely together.
