I'm new at this. To continue...Abram and Geraldine Lewis left Virginia to settle in Missouri in 1857. Abram joined the Missouri Milita in Dec 1861 and was captured four days later. He was in prison until Mar of 1862 when he was released after pleadging his oath to not bare arms against the Union. He settled in Bates County, was a Baptist minister until his death in 1913. Two brothers married Covington sisters. John Merry Lewis (Abram's brother) married Margaret Irene Covington. Another Covington sister Lucy, married Thomas Duval, who lived in Saline County, Missouri, and tried to get Abram to settle there. Lots more...but I wait to see if you are still seeking info.
