    3. In the Culpeper library there is a map of early landowners and their properties. It is a most useful tool. I'd also suggest you examine the deed books (extracts) for land descriptions, rivers, creeks, etc. that were used as boundaries. Using the map and boundary locations described in deeds, I was able to pinpoint exact location of some Browning, Green, Ball, Lane and other collateral family lines properties.
