    2. marianne dillow
    3. I will try this one more time and hopefullty the garble from copy and pasting will not come through. My 5th great grandparents are Moses Cushenberry and wife Ann unknown. Moses was born ca 1720-1740. He was from Virginia. He was in Kentucky in Fayette and Bourbon counties as early as 1783. He died in Bourbon Co., Ky in 1792 where he left his inventory. The Cushenberry name has been spelled several ways in records in Kentucky. Moses settled in the Limestone area in the town of Washington and Licking Creek and the land eventually became Mason Co., Ky although it was in Fayette and Bourbon counties when Moses lived there. It is believed Moses was a part of the Virginia Quisenbery family and possibly a brother to Aaron Quisenberry, Sr. son of Humphrey Quisenberry or Humphrey's brother William Quisenberry although I am still looking for a record to prove it. Below is relationships that shows the Quisenberry family and intermarriages and the Traveling Church were known to my Moses Quisenberry that died 1792 in Bourbon Co., Ky. Moses and Ann's children are: (1) John Cushenberry married Rebecca Dowden10 Dec 1791. (2) William Cushenberry... had a daughter Rachel who married Richard Brown. (3) Elijah Cusenberry married Polly unknown..... their daughter Obedience married (i) Johnson Ellis, (ii) Johnson J. Cockerell. (4) Vincent Cushenberry m. Mary Davis dau of William Davis 4 May 1791 in Bourbon Co., Ky.. (5) Daniel Cushenberry m. Sally Davis dau of William Davis. (6) Mary Cushenberry m. Nicholas Lindsay. (70 Elizabeth Cushenberry m. Zachariah Ross. (8) Anna Cushenberry m. Vachel Lindsay. (9) Rachel Cushenberry m. John F. Pullin (Pulliam). In Fayette County, Ky. Moses sons William and Elijah Cushenbery bought land from Rev. Lewis Craig and bounded by William Robinson of "The Traveling Church". The Fayette Co., Ky Tax List A as an example shows on 8 June 1787 my "Moses Coosenberry" next to Rawleigh Chinn and Smith Darnell on each side of him with John Tandy on down on that date. John Quisenberry was also in Fayette Co., Va in a 1788 deed bounded by Thomas Burris and Robert McMillion and the record was acknowledged in Orange Co., Va as well as in Ky. Also Rev. James Quisenberry was in Fayette Co., Ky son of Aaron Quisenberry and Joyce Dudley. He was born 1759 in Spotsylvania Co., Va and died in Clark Co., Ky in 1830. He m. 1st Jane Burris dau of Thomas Burris and Frances Tandy and 2nd to Chloe Shipp. My Moses Cushenberry's children moved on to Warren Co., Ky and Allen Co., Ky formed from Warren County. Aaron Quisenberry was also in the 1820 Warren County records. He is the grandson of Aaron Quisenberry and Joyce Dudley. My Moses Cushenberry son Elijah m. dau Obedience m. Johnson Ellis 31 Jan 1804 in Fayette Co., Ky. Johnson Ellis died 1814 in Warren Co., Ky. Elijah Cushenberry named a son Neil McCann. It should be noted that the family of Hezekiah Ellis and Mildred Burbridge had a dau who m. Joseph McCann and a dau Sarah who m. O'Neal McCann. Mildred m. 2nd to Benjamin Robinson. Also Sallie Ellis married Aaron Quisenberry whose first wife was Rachel Shelton. The Kentuckian-Citizen, Paris, Ky dated 22 Jan 1946 states" The McCann's Joseph and Neal were brothers of "Grandmother Cusenberry." We also have a Dudley Robinson who married into my Cushenberry family in Ky. Moses Quisenbery son of Aaron and Joyce Dudley was confused with my Moses Cushenberry for several years. But my Moses was older born ca 1720-1740 time frame as he died in 1792. So in my rsearch which started in the 1980's on Moses Cushenberry continues. If anyone can contribute to what I have it would be very much appreciated as the people named and the relationships are rather suspicious. :) Marianne Dillow
