Your Smith Family was interesting, especially the Western Augustine Smith. Augustine Smith married Mary Carver according to my notes. Their daughter, Mary Smith, married Robert Slaughter Jr. My line goes from Mary S and Robert Slaughter Jr. to William Slaughter and Katherine Zimmerman to Gabriel Slaughter and Frances Hord to Frances Ellen Slaughter. Frances married a Claudsley W Smith that I can find nothing. As some of Frances's brothers went to Indiana from VA I feel there must be a connection of the Smiths in VA to a Smith marrying in Indiana to Frances Ellen Slaughter. Only one Census(1830) has Frances Ellen Slaughter and Claudsley W mentioned with their first child , a daughter. My George Lawrence Smith was born later in 1836 in Louisville, KY. In the Hord notes I have a Gulielmus Smith mentioned in a Court Record. He doesn't seem to be a relative and could have been a slave runner. Gulielmus Smith deeded land to William Hord c 1831. Gabriel Slaughter and Frances Sophia Hord had: John, Lawrence, James, William, Mary and my Frances Ellen Slaughter. When we have a Smith in the family we grasped every ounce of information.
