    1. [VACulpeper] JOHN GAUNT, October 5, 1759
    2. Hi All, While researching the BOBO family in Culpeper Co., VA, I found this information: "8 March 1760. Thomas Hill 447 acres in Granville Co in the Parish of St John on Isingglas the waters of Shocco Creek, joining William Williamson, Brittain Jones, John Gaunt, John Thornton, Hills line and the sd Isingglas signed by his mark. ("Gantrees" Newsletter of the Gant Family of America, Vol. 4, No. 4, p. 10) Source: Descendants of *Gabriel Baubeau http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/o/b/Robert-G-BOBO/GENE1-0003.html ?Welcome=1030528572 I haven't verified this, myself. I am still searching for the father of ANDREW GAUNT, possibly the husband of MARY MARTIN. LEWIS BOBO was born in about The BOBO family is connected to my husband's GAUNT line. EMILY FRANCES (1866, Greene Co., Ohio -- 1936, Indiana) married ABRAHAM THOMAS BOBO (1859, Indiana -- 1936, Indiana) in 1886. EMILY FRANCES is the daughter of WILLIAM ANDREW GAUNT & EMILY FRANCES JOHNSON. She is the granddaughter of ALPHEUS GAUNT & SUSANNA HAINES and the great granddaughter of ANDREW GAUNT & CATHERINE CORBIN. ABRAHAM THOMAS BOBO is the son of PHARES BOBO & JULIE ANN PECK. He is the grandson of EZEKIAL BOBO & SARAH WREN. His great grandparents are; ISREAL BOBO & MARGARET GRAHAM and great great grandparents; GABRIEL BOBO & ELIZABETH GARNER. LEWIS BOBO (mentioned above, I believe) is the brother of GABRIEL. I haven't verified all of the above information. The BOBO line is also tied to the SIMS/HOUGHTON/JOHNSON and other families connected to the GAUNT line in Culpeper Co., VA. Does anyone have any thoughts on this JOHN GAUNT? Thanks, Linda Cashen Gaunt

I'm looking for a farm in Culpeper county. The family which owned the farm was James Ballard Lewis and Elizabeth Mary Yancey. It was called "Mountain View" and was located near Brandy Station. Their neighbor at that time was the Green family. James Ballard Lewis's daughter Sue Virginia Lewis married John A. Green in 1866 at this farm. If anyone has any information concerning any of these homes and also their exact location I would appreciate the help. I'm trying to get photos of these homes and also of the home called Liberty Hall (which was originally owned by the Green family) Thanks for any help, Judy

    1. [VACulpeper] FT Road...
    2. John Morris
    3. I realize that this question has been asked in the past, sometime last year, BUT now I have a decent map and wish to mark out the road as my family had holding along it. Could some, at their leisure, post the route numbers that presently covered it. The Schell map only lists a very short length of it on Rt. 644 and if I remember, it is more than just that short piece. I thinks.... Thanks, No hurry,,,,,, John 'n Virginia

    1. [VACulpeper] Henry Bransom ANDERSON
    2. Robert E. Epp
    3. Dear Listers: Family lore states that Henry Bransom ANDERSON rode shotgun (2 to 3 times) on covered wagons traveling to California. Henry was born near Amissville in 1831, so this traveling probably took place in the mid- to late-1800s. Does anyone have any information regarding this activitiy? Did this activity originate in Northern Virginia? Any suggestions as to where we can learn more about Henry? TIA! Bob
