I have records that indicate Hannah Long daughter of John Long and Barbara Read (born 10 Jan 1762 at ST Marys) married a Mr Sullinger. We are not able to find any Sullingers in the Culpepper area. Can anyone help please. Thanks Dave Long

I would recommend "Colonial Virginia: A History," by Warren Billings et al., as a starting place for that period of Virginia history. I'm nearing the end and have enjoyed it thoroughly. It also includes a lengthy bibliography for those who might want to dig into the topic a little more deeply. I wonder if any one on the list can give me the name of a good book listing historic families of Virginia. I could use a book of the history of Virginia as well. I have a lot of family that started out in Virginia in the early 1600's; some of them went on to Kentucky and the Carolina's.
