Those are the only ways that would be free, I think, although I may have overlooked a possibility. Copying it & mailing would be another way or faxing. Let me know what you think. Donna

Eicher: It is so super that you made a connection, Anita and Ken! We all wish we had some of those moments! Blackwell: There is not much in the way of vital records for Culpeper on-line. For those, you have to do research the old-fashioned way, in the Court house and libraries. The Culpeper Genealogical Society is working on this, but we only have a few members locally. We publish a quarterly newsletter concerning Culpeper for members. Visit our website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~vacgs Have you been to the Rootsweb archives online? Long: Dawn, the Culpeper Genealogical Society is very interested in the gedcom for the Longs. How are you thinking of posting it? Donna Boyd

I'm relatively new to genealogy research and have no clue how to find information on my Blackwell ancestry in Culpeper County, Virginia. Is there an online way to obtain records? All I've found has been very few sites that were working for the late 1700's and early 1800's. Where can I find marriage records, birth records, etc? Debbie

When I was going through the 1870 census I found Abraham Eicher listed as 32, Male, Farmer. Then Jane 24, Female, Keeps house and Alice 3, Female and Margaret 10/12, Female. He must have been married before he married Louisa. When my mother was doing her research on the Eichers she asked someone why they moved to Virginia. I guess Abraham had asthma and found the climate in Virginia was much better for him.

I am searching for the family of William M. Blackwell, born 1808 or 1809 in Culpeper County, Virginia. His mother's name may have been Ellennor (Elenor). The family moved to Madison County, Kentucky sometime between 1810 and 1820. Elenor was apparently born about 1783 in Virginia.
