    2. Gaynelle J. Moore
    3. Hello, I am new to the Culpeper Co. message board. I am researching the Rush family there before 1800. In particular, I would love a list of children for Benjamin and Rachel _?_ Rush. It is believed that Benjamin was the son of William and Mary [Hudson] Rush. I am pretty sure Benjamin and Rachel had sons: Absolom, Benjamin Jr. and James. More specifically, I am trying to prove they had a son John Rush, believed to marry first a ___ Henson. Can anyone help? James Rush and John Rush were found in Barren Co., KY on census in 1810. Thank you, Gaynelle Jenkins Moore

There is a 99.9% certainty that Mark & I share common ancestry. Would like to see a Cooper from the Leonard Cooper family and one from John Cooper, who married the Meador, each take this test. 2. Donna S. Boyd
    3. Behind the scenes, I have been helping Priscilla with this. One of our main problems is that if the Town agrees to fix anything, it wants to do it in the cheapest possible way, rather than employ the safest conservator-approved and preservationist-recommended materials and methods. Recently, while preparing to dig a grave, a local funeral home's crew was out driving heavy machinery over grave lots! Priscilla is doing everyone a service who has ancestors here, and there is lots more to this story yet to come out. --- Donna Boyd http://www.freelancestar.com/News/FLS/2002/112002/11012002/775333

    1. [VACulpeper] FREEMAN-HUFFMAN House, Culpeper Co., VA
    2. I have been informed that there is a Freemen-Huffman House still standing in Culpeper Co., VA. <<Located 4 miles west of Culpeper off Rt. 522 on 633, this L-shaped frame house is said to have been built by Peton Botts who married Miss Merry Lewis. The original house had four rooms and basement. One of the two original stone chimneys is still standing. A rear wing was added in 1900, and the house stuccoed in 1941. The interior has original pine floors and individually designed mantels. For many years the place was owned by the Freemans and Huffmans.>> In Culpeper Co., VA Tilmann HUFFMAN m2. 1794 Margaret (Williams) FREEMAN, widow, I am curious as to whether they were the occupants of the cited house. I am a descendant of Tilmann by his first wife, name unknown. Tilmann HUFFMAN died about 1826 in Culpeper Co., VA. I have no data on Margaret FREEMAN other than she was a WILLIAMS and the widow of James FREEMAN. Does anyone have the story of the old house as it relates to the FREEMAN and HUFFMAN families? Best regards, Hugh

Since we are just over a year old as an organization and our webmaster serves several other sites as well, we don't have an awful lot on our web site yet, but more is coming.
