I know this is technically not an appropriate post, but buyer beware - be very careful about what services you order from these guys and watch your credit card charges...I didn't and discovered - belatedly - that they had set me up on an automatic monthly service for their census without my knowledge. Suffice it to say that although I now have the charges cancelled, there are no refunds coming. My problem, but don't let it happen to you!! Jan Daniel

I've always wondered if his given name came from a BROWN that married a STEWART. So what's the history of the Stewart name in your line?

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QBC.2ACI/2347 Message Board Post: I am interested to know if anyone has found a connection with these surnames in the Culpeper area. There is a Col. John Green that married a Susannah Blackwell. I believe that they had a daughter named Eliza Green or Eliza Jane Green. I am trying to find out if this Eliza Green could have gone by the name of Jane Green and if it would be the same person that married a Captain Peter Moore on December 20, 1787, in Bourbon County Kentucky. The reason that I have this interest is due to Peter Moore having a son that was named Blackwell Moore and naturally came to this conclusion. Both Colonel John Green and Captain Peter Moore appear to have been career Military Men during the Revolutinary War and I know that Captain Peter Moore was with Crocketts Regiment when George Rogers Clark was in the Illinois Territory conquest. I would believe the Colonel John Green may have had some part in that conquest too. Did Colonel John Green have any ties to Kentucky and the Fayette, Bourbon County area of Kentucky? Does any of this make any kind of sense? Is there a abstract of Colonel John Green's Will in 1793, Culpeper COunty Virginia, that may mention this daughter. I have seen that John Green may have had six or seven sons and a daughter.

Hi Linda, I don't know if this will have any clues for you, but my husband's is from a MILLER/HAINES line in Culpeper Co., VA who married in 1779. ISAAC HAINES (1757, PA or NJ -- 1796, Culpeper Co., VA) married MARY MILLER (born 1776, VA -- ?) in 1779, Culpeper Co., VA. ISAAC HAINES is third cousin to below MARY HAINES. History and Genealogy of Fenwick's Colony David, the son of David and Dorothea Davis, born 1730, like his father, was a large land-holder. His wife was Martha Cole, by whom he had several children. Joseph, their son married Mary Haines, and they had two daughters--Martha and Anna Davis. Martha's husband was William Folwell; they had one son--Joseph D. Folwell. Anna married David, the son of John and Sarah Pancoast. They are both living at this time in Woodstown, and have several children. David, the son of David and Martha Cole Davis, married a Haines; they had issue. Martha, their daughter, married Andrew Griscom, the son of Benjamin Griscom, of Salem; they had six children. Anna, the daughter of David and Mary Davis, married Allen Fenimore. Joseph Davis, the son of David, married a Collins. The second son of David and Mary H. Davis is named David Davis. Jacob, the son of David and Martha C. Davis, married Elizabeth Coulson; there were four children by that marriage. David C. Davis married Mary Engle, daughter of Asa Engle; they had several children. David is deceased. Mary C. Davis died single. Don't know if this helps or confuses, Linda Cashen Gaunt
