James GREEN was married to Elizabeth TAPP, daughter of William TAPP. James received an assignment of a grant from his father-in-law in 1748.James died in Culpeper in 1766. Only child I have any record of is a son, William GREEN married to Mary ?, who died cir 1831 in Culpeper. William and Mary had 13 children, one of whom, Moses, married Harriett Bayse cir. 1818. Moses and Harriett had 16 children, most of whom went west. Aylette GREEN stayed in the area. He married Emily BAYSE and their son, Charles Minor GREEN, was my husband's grandfather. Another son of Moses, Edward A. GREEN, moved to Front Royal and his daughter Estelle Virginia GREEN was Charles M. GREEN'S wife. In my extensive research on this line, I find no connection to the famous Robert GREEN family of Culpeper. Unfortunately, these two families shared many of the same given names, which has led to some confusion. other names in Culpeper and Rappahannock: BAYSE, CLOUD, TAPP, HAWKINS, WRIGHT _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
