As an extra dimension here, I delete Roll Calls with a subject line containing names I don't have at all. But those people may also have collateral names they have no space to include on the Subject line. On the Fauquier list people are including collaterals as well as their main names, and there has been a good response from connections. Shirley Massie Simms UK Massie in Northern Neck.VA. Thomas families pre-1790, specifically pedigree of Captain Mark Thomas who fought in the Rev. War serving with Col.(later Gen.) George Rodgers Clark (Brother of Meriwether Clark - Lewis and Clark fame)in the campaigns in IL. He was born in VA, probably Culpeper Co., migrating to the Falls of the Ohio (Louisville, KY) and staying there at least until 1790, moving to the American Bottom, IL and dying in St. Louis in 1813. Mark Thomas' first wife was Ann? possibly Patton; they had four children: Elizabeth Thomas married first Lawrence Must in 1787 in Nelson Co., KY and 2nd Benjamin Johnston ca 1789/90; Claiborne (dob est. 1770-80 dod est 1856); James; and Judith who married "Capt." William Thomas Moss These children were "founding fathers" of Jefferson Co., MO Mark Thomas married 2nd wife Margaret Murray in Jan 1795, St. Clair Co., IL. They had two children. Thanks Jan
I do not read any message that has only "roll call" as the subject line. I suggest putting the names one is searching there in capital letters. This makes it easier to scan for names of interest, especially when there are 40 to 50 messages in my inbox. thank you Carolyn _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail

I hate to admit it, but I too delete e mails with "ROLL CALL" in the subject line and nothing more. It might behoove our newbies to closely read instructions upon subscribing to a list. Also when the roll call first started, some people just listed names with out the benefit of dates or places which gives very little to go on for us who would like to help. Hope I have not offended anyone, it was not my intention to do so.
