Thanks for your reply Anne, Was Susan Fitzhugh the d/o John J B Fitzhugh? *I don't know* *I think her Mother's married name was Mary Fitzhugh* Anne thank you for looking up these records I don't they they apply to what I'm looking for. I'm trying to find living descendants of Siffrein Maury Vass and Susan Fitzhugh. I want to invite them to a ceremony in Henrico County, Va. to honor the sacrifice of two of their sons who gave their young lives [17 y.o. and 18 y.o.] in defense of their homeland during the War Between the States. These two brothers who were CSA soldiers are going [Nov. 2006] to get proper tombstones provided by the Veterans Administration [one's like at Arlington Cemetery]. Their previous tombstones numbered 84 and 84 1/2 will be removed and proper military tombstones will be set in place and they will be given a full a Confederate reproduction of a 1864 ceremony to honor their sacrifice. There names were George Fitzhugh Vass and Townshend Dade Vass. I believe that this will be something not to be missed. Any other info greatly appreciated. Gail Vass
Do you by any chance connect with the Coleman line of VA? VVO
The Germanna Foundation tours the villages of our ancestors every June for 10 days. I have traveled with them 3 out of the 4 times and it was fantastic each and every time. The last tour that I took, in 2005, I participated with the Foundation and helped with several of the tours in northern Germany dealing with the First Colony. The reception that we have received from the Germans is absolutely amazing, they are so glad to have us there and so welcoming. If you're a Germanna descendant, you might want to consider taking this trip! On one of the pages of their web site, there is a large amount of information. Their web site is http://www.germanna.org The members of the organization make a trip to the homeland areas in Germany every so often. It's a real learning experience. Donna

Surnames: Boswell, Basal, Bozell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QBC.2ACI/2887 Message Board Post: My fourth great grandfather was living around Culpepper County Virginia in 1787 when he is listed in the Property Tax Census Records. It shows he had three horses and two cows. He is also located around northeastern Culpepper County which became Madison County where he purchases 220 acres of land adjoining Hugh and Lewis Donoho. He is later shown in property records where he purchased on April 7, 1780, 182 acres near the Madison Gap and northest of Hawksbill Mountain . Both peices of land are now in the Shenandoah National Park. The property was six miles south of the Frances Brandom's property in present day Rappahannock County, and about one mile west of Robertson Mountain where the Robinson/Robertson families lived. He was to have participated in the Revolutionary War, however, no records to date can support his efforts in that war. He may have been in the Militia and many of those recrods have been destroyed. He is the father of the following children: Henry Boswell, wife Lucy Brandom, George Boswell wife Amelia Robinson, Ezekiel Boswell wife Lucy Robertson. His daughters were Sarah Boswell husband John Brandom, Susanna Boswell husband Levi Rouse, and Frances Boswell husband Robert McKibben. There have been no records found that gives the maiden name of his wife or the mother to these children. There is one record that shows Mildred Boswell. If anyone has any information regarding George and his wife, I would appreciate you sharing it with me. Our name was returned to the original spelling and pronunciation of Bozell after my third great grand father settled in Indiana around 1824. Deborah Bozell Donahue
