Does anyone have a comprehensive list of New Castle Sheriffs from past to present? I have two of them in my wife's line... Byrd Emmett Carper, elected in 1915 and 1919. and John W. Caldwell, who may or may not have been family, but boarded at the house of family... House of Charles E. Carper, is listed in the 1880 Census as Sheriff. Vince
