    1. [VACRAIG] Elizabeth "Wimond" (Wymand/Weiman/Weyerman....)
    2. Here's another line that I have yet to see any positive leads on. It concerns the ancestors and family of Elizabeth "Wimond", wife of John Hypes, Sr. of early Botetourt Co. Elizabeth was "apparently" a resident of then-Botetourt (present-day Craig Co.) at the time of her marriage, but the only men having a surname that remotely resembled "Wimond" (obviously a misspelling of her German surname) during this era concerned a Jacob and Joseph "Wymand". And the only record I've found to date on them concerns a land purchase by one or both of them in then-Botetourt Co., VA in 1782. No other Botetourt Co., or VA land entry for that matter, appears to exist for them after that. What became of them? Where did they go to (if anywhere)? Although my guess is that one of these two men is the father of Elizabeth, it still leaves me at a "dead end" as to where they came from, who their family members where, where they moved to, etc. as they do not show up in the 1810 census for Botetourt Co. either. Would anyone have any further information about either of these men? I've seen some men in southeastern PA of similar age and different surname spellings that may yield a clue but no other info has been found to date that would possibly tie them in (ancestrally) with these SE Pa settlers. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Elizabeth did have sons by the names of Jacob and Joseph, so it would at least appear that we're on the right track, so...And since many of the German families who settled in SW VA came from SE PA, it's a good bet that the WImonds/Wymands/Weimans/Weyermans, etc. came from that area as well. Any research-related leads would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob
